La Casa Del Formaggio's family farms
La Casa Del Formaggio has formed partnerships with seven family farms located in the beautiful, lush Mt. Compass and Myponga region of South Australia to supply fresh milk daily. The group is made up of a mix of friesian and jersey cows, which gives us a good balance of fat and protein in our milk. Meet our family farms below:
Our family farm has been producing milk since the early 1950's. Grant Jolley is the of the third generation and their sons Ben and Randall that work with him are the fourth generation. We believe that farming isn't a job but rather a life style, which is in our blood. This is why we continue to dairy farm for the past 60+ years and beyond!
Our family also enjoy equestrian as a hobby and have won many championships for the state of South Australia. Randall has also represented Australia abroad in an International Competition.
We enjoy working together as a family to raise happy and calm cows that are well fed and produce top quality milk!
Our farm is nestled in the heart of the Fleurieu Peninsula at Hindmarsh Tiers approx 20km north of Victor Harbor and 60 km south of Adelaide. Our family commenced dairy farming at Myponga in 1964 and moved to their current location in 1970.
Gino & Mandy are 2nd generation farmers with our two sons Ash & Andrew continuing the tradition to become 3rd generation dairy farmers. We have a passion for showing our animals at both the Adelaide Royal Show and Country Shows; this also gives us an opportunity to catch up with other dairy families on a social level.
Over the years we have had great pleasure in breeding healthy cows that have gone on to give us a sound foundation to build on. The dairy industry also has given us many opportunities to travel and share our knowledge and love for the industry with the “Next Generation” to inspire them to become involved.
We go to great lengths to produce premium quality milk for La Casa to process into quality products. Australians can be assured of purchasing fresh high quality products!
We have been on our “Amdena” farm in Mt. Compass for 30 years. Two generations have worked on Amdena with our son Nick, our current Farm Manager, being the fourth generation to breed the Roslyn Vale jersey cows. Between our families the Roslyn Vale jersey cow bloodlines started in 1932.
We believe the secret to great milk is working as a focused family with excellent staff that genuinely care for the cows. We feed our stock a balanced diet with quality pasture, regular routines and pride in our work - this provides high protein and nutrient high milk. High quality milk allows La Casa Del Formaggio to produce world class cheeses and other dairy products.
Dairy products are increasingly sought after all over the world as families seek value for money with nutrition, protein and enjoyable food for the family table. We are proud to contribute to this industry.
Our family milked our first cow in 1939 and our third generation is now running the farm - with the fourth generation currently living on the farm as young children. Our favourite leisure activity are family BBQs on the property.
We love the satisfaction of working for ourselves in a family-owned business. Another perk is being able to work outdoors with livestock - agriculture is a great business to be in.
We also appreciate knowing the quality milk we produce is being supplied to a local SA family-owned business and it gives us great pride being able to associate the milk we produce with a quality product that you see on the shelf in the supermarkets.
Our herd in Mt. Compass is made up of Holstein Friesian, Jersey, Aussie Red, Brown Swiss and Crossbred cows. Our family business has been operating for 20 years with the second generation on the farm now.
We believe dairy farming isn't a job - its a lifestyle! Providing quality milk is our passion and the secret to great milk is quiet cows and good herd management.
Our Mt. Compass farm has been operating for 55 years and has spanned 3 generations. Our cows are Friesian and Friesian/Jersey cross breeds.
There is quite a lot that we enjoy about being dairy farmers, including being in the great outdoors every day, working with cows and calves and creating good jobs for young people on our farm.
Our family loves to get together to play football, netball and enjoy a meal together - especially when it includes cheese!
Munbilla Dairy has been operating for 21 years and Jeff is a third generation dairy farmer. His parents had a dairy at Meadows and his grandfather had one at Clarendon.
We get great pride from producing a quality milk that goes into a quality end product. Our cows are calm and content, and are fed a well-balanced diet. It is calm cows milked in a quiet environment that is our family's secret to great milk!
